BOCC BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING

1. 5:01 p.m. Tentative Millage Rate for 2026 Tax Year
2. 5:01 p.m. Tentative Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027

That the Board of County Commissioners convene a Public Hearing to set the tentative millage rate and budget pursuant to Section 129.03(3)(c) and Section 200.065(2)(c) and (e) and receive comments, questions or requests for the 2026 tax year; and

That the Board of County Commissioners adopt Resolution 2026-59 adopting a tentative Millage Rate for the 2026 tax year, declaring that said millage rate is greater than the rolled-back rate; characterizing said percent as the percentage increase in property taxes; providing an effective date.  

That the Board of County Commissioners adopt Resolution 2026-60 adopting a tentative budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 in the amount of $176,154,523, providing that a copy of said budget shall be filed in the office of the Okeechobee County Clerk of Circuit Court as a public record, providing an effective date.

That the Board of County Commissioners schedule a Public Hearing on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 5:01 pm to adopt the final millage rate and final budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027.
